This review is on Boost Energy Cola, the last two boost products have been disappointing. Even entering in with a Cola flavour, didn't do much to BOOST my confidence. Upon open the can to take a taste of this drink to discover it taste a bit like flat cola.

but it is a fairly steady cola. Although there is a strange taste that comes at the end of every mouthful. My guess is either the active ingredients or too much caramel. It's just a weird chlorine-esque taste at the end of each drink. If I’m honest, you can ignore it, but it's a fault none-the-less.

So it's a flat cola taste. A couple of faults, like that aftertaste and the repugnant glaze on my tongue afterwards, but I would say this is effort is about the same as Rockstar Cola. As for the smell I am told it smells like Cola Syrup or Post Mix like what is used in pubs for their mixers.

Energy is still the same humdrum mix of vitamins and low caffeine that the other drinks also offer. There is slightly more in the vitamins department, but if you can feel an extra 0.4mg of Vitamin B6 flowing through your system, then you need to get a job as an alchemist. Maybe help them find the philosophers stone. We could use a man or woman of your talents...

This is an improvement on the rest of the Boost range. The mixed fruit flavours are worth avoiding, but Boost's take on a cola is an ok attempt. It may be worth giving it a try at 49p on their promotional cans. This is an ok product not the best on the market but not the worst.

But then again, whether it's the packaging, the taste, or the energy, I'm still not drawn in, and certainly not drawn away from a can of Monster or Relentless. From an objective standpoint, it's a fairly good product. But in the real world, if this is lined up next to all the other energy offerings, you would probably reach past it 95% of the time.

Verdict: This drink I would more recommend if you are going to mix it with spirits to try and overcome the flat taste of cola. I wouldn’t drink it on its own again but was worth trying and it may be worth trying yourself if you like the taste of diet coke or coke zero. It is an ok attempt for the lower price range of energy drinks.
