I absolutely loved the Atlantis, it's HUGE and the service, food and facilities are brilliant. On arrival you are asked to pay a £200 a day deposit which I refused to do (as I didn't want the unspent back in cash on the last day). Even though I refused to pay the deposit they still upgraded us to a Terrace Suite worth £11,800 a week... result!
You should certainly upgrade to half board before you go as the food is really expensive but all in all Dubai is not as expensive as I thought, although expect to pay £9 for a milkshake by the pool. If you're staying at the hotel you get to go to the water park for free which is a great day out, although some of the slides made me feel sick!
For families this is a fantastic place to stay, although the night entertainment for kids is limited.
We went in June and the weather was gorgeous, around 40 degrees but with a wind it's very bearable. People by the pool were saying it's 55 in August and the best time to go is probably October.
I would recommend doing the dolphin interaction at dolphin bay, it's around £125 for the shallow water experience and it was much better than Sea World in San Diego.
The food is really nice and with half board you get the use of 5 different restaurants, we opted for the buffet most nights as the range was really big and the food lovely.
5 out of 5 and I would certainly go back, although I'd probably like to check out the Atlantis in the Bahamas next.
