If you're in the market for a singlespeed road bike, whether it's for commuting, training or just falling off as you head back from the pub, they don't come much more bombproof at this price range than this machine.
Despite its somewhat wishy-washy name, the Maurice is solid and has a fairly stiff, responsive ride. The steel frame feels strong and the wheelset is suprisingly well-built considering the low overall price tag.
If it's style you want the little Mongoose provides spadeloads. The wild colour scheme, although not to everyone's taste, will turn heads and stop you from melting into the background in a crowd of othr impatient commuters. Its simplicity makes it ideal for training, too, with no granny ring, 'get-out-of-jail-free' option on the calf-busting climbs. A few miles on the Maurice and you'll know you've done them!

Highly recommended if you want to stand out from the crowd and enjoy the singlespeed experience.
