In my opinion this is no better than ruffling your hair and using firm hold hairspray to set it. If you lift up the layers of your hair and spray at your roots and the layers below, hold until dry, you'll get a good effect, but no better than you would get by using hairspray (I've tried it). This product is packaged beautifully but is distinctly underwhelming. You'd be better off buying a good can of firm hold hairspray
